NADA 2020 Preview: What We’re Looking Forward to This Year
It’s almost time for everyone’s favorite event of the year: NADA Show 2020! It’s hard to believe that it’s already been almost a year since we were all in San Francisco, but ready or not here it comes.
We can’t wait to catch up with everyone in Vegas. This year we will be unveiling a brand new automotive marketing platform, and NADA attendees will be the first to get the chance to see it in action. And that’s on top of everything else that we’re looking forward to at NADA this year. Here are just a few of the things we’re excited about heading into NADA 2020.
1. Our New Automotive Marketing Platform
(Did we mention that already?)
At the show, we will be revealing the premier automotive marketing platform for progressive auto dealers. With a completely streamlined experience, this technology will execute multi-channel digital advertising, and enable dealers to monitor market analytics and full-funnel attribution all in one place. The end result being more qualified calls and leads, and more ready to buy shoppers delivered to your store.
Plus, with the new value-based pricing, it’s a deal that can’t be beat! To be among the first to see it in action, schedule a 15-minute strategy session at the show.
2. The Distinguished Speakers Series
NADA kicked off this series last year and it was a big hit. This year should be no different with the line up of sessions they have planned at the show. A big theme this year is organizational priorities and culture. From focusing on what really matters, to showing employees appreciation and preparing for the next generation workforce, the sessions are focused on helping dealers build stronger, more productive cultures that grow profits.
One of the sessions we are particularly excited to check out it is “The Shift: Building Next-Generation Enterprises for a Next-Generation Workforce.” This topic has been top of mind for us since we saw Clint Pulver speak at the DrivingSales Executive Summit back in October.
The Work Institute projects that turnover will cost U.S. companies $680 billion in 2020. That’s a 19% increase from 2017. That’s a pretty steep increase, and it’s because of the next generation of workers who are taking over the workforce.
Instead of staying with the same company for 20-30 years, workers today are prepared to leave if and when they become dissatisfied with leadership, or have nowhere left to grow. And as Pulver is smart to point out, this trend isn’t going to end with Millennials. It’s only going to become more prominent with every generation that follows. The sooner you get a grasp on the changing workforce, the better it is for your organization long term.
Of course, turnover is a natural part of life for any business, but with upwards of 40% average turnover rate in the auto industry, there is certainly work that can be done to retain more talent longer. If attracting and retaining more talent is one of your dealership’s priorities in 2020 then you definitely don’t want to miss this session!
3. Mary Barra’s Closing Keynote
Mary Barra, CEO of GM, is set to close out the show this year, and it’s easy to understand why. She’s been making headlines the past few years for her commentary on the changes going on in the industry. Not to mention, the big changes that she’s been making at GM.
With all-electric pickup trucks set to roll out in 2021, the latest mid-engine C8 Corvette, and the many other irons in the fire at GM, her closing keynote is bound to be one for the books.
4. PureCars Happy Hour
As always, we’ll be doing our annual happy hour at NADA. This year we are changing it up though. Instead of hosting it at the Chandelier Bar at Encore, we’ll be hosting it at The Lily in the Bellagio. If you are interested in attending, you can click here to learn more about the event and how to register.
5. The Digital Super Track
NADA lined up some killer workshops for the Digital Super Track this year. Here are the top three that we have already marked off on our schedule heading into the show.
Demystifying the Future of Car Shopping and Buying |Jessica Stafford, Autotrader
“Join us for a peek into the future of car buying, and experience the new technology and tools car shoppers expect today. Exploring everything from data-driven and personalized experiences to virtual reality and voice search, we will provide a simplified and strategic approach for dealers to put to use right away and thrive in the new digital buying world.”
Leveraging Data and Digital Giants to Impact Your Dealership |Amanda Flippin, Facebook; Julio Gonzalez, Google; Philip Sura, Sura Consulting
“Google and Facebook control 57% of the digital ad spending in the U.S., says eCommerce. Our panel will include senior execs from both Google and Facebook and we will cover topics on leveraging these platforms, key metrics, video opportunities and identifying the right audience. You’ll also learn about new opportunities with Google and Facebook.”
Digital Marketing: Making the Right Decisions |Michael Hayes, NADA
“Participants will leave with the knowledge and tools to make better decisions about their digital marketing strategies. They’ll learn how to improve communication with their digital marketing vendors and how to hold vendors accountable. They’ll also learn how to use data to personalize the online shopping experience and turn anonymous online shoppers into vehicle buyers.”
